Elmer

Scroll Down to see how our Elmer Grylls is coming along

Were proud to announce that we will be part of The Great North Elmer Parade which will be taking place later this year, with Elmer sculptures popping up all over the North East. We need to say a massive thank you to the Glebe Residents Association for helping us fund our sculpture.

The parade is taking place to raise money for St Oswald’s Hospice who, along with a multitude of other amazing work, do vital work with families of little ones who have incurable conditions. We cant do justice to how important and fantastic their work is, so to get a feel for what they do click here.

Letting the Children Loose!

The children have finally been able to get their tree designs onto Elmer’s feet. Not long to go before he’s collected again to go and be part of the Great North Elmer Parade.

We’ve Started

We’ve started our design first we drew our words onto Elmer, then we had fun with paint and now there’s only a few details left before the Forest School inspired tree trunk is complete.

We’ve taken patterns that featured in Rio (our snow dog) mixed in some of the key aims and themes of our forest school, added a couple of flowers (and a cheeky looking bee) which leads us here.

Children’s tree designs will follow around his body and legs and there might be a couple of special guest artists coming to work on his ears.

We hope you like him so far.

He’s Here!!!!

After what seems like an age and loads of build up, our very own little Elmer is here… We’re so excited and cant wait to get our children’s and staff’s ideas onto our lovely little Elephant.
