Andy Goldsworthy Inspired Art
We LOVE forest school in nursery and over the last term we have enjoyed making Andy Goldsworthy inspired art using things we could find in our forest school, we used leaves, rocks, twigs and enjoyed using our hands to make a giant piece of art.
Christmas Stay and Play
Click here to see a slideshow of the Christmas stay and play where our lovely children taught their families how to make Christmas cards and helped them to decorate biscuits.
Winter Play and Learning
Forest School Stay and Play
In the Autumn term we invited our lovely parents to get their wellies and coats on to come and take part in a stay and play session in our forest school, the children loved using clay to make animals and showing their families around.
Loose Parts Play
Meanwhile, again in the Autumn term, but inside our lovely nursery this time the children enjoyed working together to make different shapes and structures using ‘loose parts’
BLAST is a programme that we use in our Nursery to support the development of speech, language and communication for identified children. Listening and speaking skills are developed simultaneously during each session.
BLAST stands for Boosting Language Auditory Skills and Talking.
BLAST works on the underpinning skills for language, communication and literacy – turn taking, discrimination, listening, attention and social communication as well as developing basic language skills both receptively and expressively.
The key message of the BLAST programme is ‘EVERY CHILD SUCCEEDS WITH EVERY ACTIVITY’. BLAST is designed to be fully inclusive and accessible to all children within our setting.
The programme is positive and fun and our children really enjoy being part of a small group. They show a real sense of pride in their achievements. Our children receive 30 consecutive sessions in a small group of between 4 and 8 children with a lead practitioner.
